Association of College and University Educators (ACUE)

The Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) offers a nationally recognized credential for effective college instruction to instructors.  Participants complete asynchronous online courses through Canvas with a short weekly time commitment.  The modules address a wide range of evidence-based teaching practices demonstrated to promote student success by increasing student retention, strengthening belonging and achievement, and closing equity gaps by engaging, motivating, and supporting active learning. Some of the ACUE module topics covered in the certification include creating a supportive learning environment, promoting active learning, inspiring lifelong learning, and designing learner-centered curricula.  For more information about ACUE, please visit  acue.org.

Sabbaticals

Sabbaticals are made available for full-time, tenured faculty who have completed at least six years of full-time service. Sabbaticals are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through further professional development, not as a reward for service. Sabbatical applications usually are distributed by the University Provost’s office in early September for the subsequent academic year.
