Upon approval, a representative from the University Police Department will contact you to schedule a time and date for the ride-along. If your request is denied, you will be notified of the circumstances surrounding the disapproval.
*Forms must be filled out completely prior to submission to the University Police Department.

Notice for Crash Reports: Traffic crash reports and the information contained therein is confidential for the first 60 days after the crash, and can only be obtained by certain parties, per F.S.S. 316.066(2). NOTE: as of March 1st, 2023, the Florida State Legislature, through Senate Bill 1614, has also made certain crash report information confidential and exempt beyond 60 days, except to certain parties. The State requires that anyone requesting a traffic crash report must complete an affidavit specifying why you are entitled to that report. You may use the link provided to print an Adobe PDF copy of the affidavit.

To report lost property, please complete the Lost Property Report by accessing the link below.

Property Registration
The Florida Atlantic Police Department's property registration process has moved online. To register your property, please complete the Property Registration form by accessing the link below.
Always secure your bicycle frame to a bicycle rack or stationary object with a alloy-hardened U-shaped lock (even if you're only going to be gone just a minute). Most locking cables and chains, regardless of a hardened case, can be cut with bolt cutters. Immediately report suspicious person(s)/activity in the vicinity of bicycle racks.
It is always a good idea to register your bicycle and personal property with the University Police in person. Registration serves as a deterrent to theft and aids in the recovery of stolen property.
IMPORTANT: Please read the information below before submitting a request.
When registering a bicycle, it is important to verify accuracy of the serial number. The model number can be easily confused for the serial number and thus get registered incorrectly. Most bicycles have the serial number engraved on the bottom bracket of the bicycle. Refer to the example below.

Request a Watch Order
The Florida Atlantic University Police Department offers the University community a request for additional patrol attention. These watch orders are intended for departments who may have an increase in crime or suspicious activity, concern for employee separations, unsecure premises due to renovation/remodeling, or other situations in which increased patrol is required.
For more information, please contact Captain Jacobson via email at jacobsonr@fau.edu.
Card Access
The Florida Atlantic University Department of Security Technology Services is responsible for the administration of the Card Access Program on the Boca Raton campus of Florida Atlantic University.
The Florida Atlantic University issued OWL CARD is the device used for the purpose of card access. The OwlCard is swiped at the card reader and if the cardholder is authorized, access will be granted and a log maintained of the transaction.
Please allow 3-4 business days for all card access requests or schedule modifications to be processed.

Key Request Work Orders
The following changes are being made to the key request procedures completed in FAMIS:
- Instead of faxing a signed letter to work control, scan it to your computer.
- The requestor must open a work order through FAMIS.
- Choose type Building Access and Locks with a subtype of Key Issuance.
- While filling out the information, there is a comment location to explain the text of the request.
- An email CC field is available for status updates.
- Account number must be provided for all key requests.
- After pressing submit, and the work order number is generated, you will then have the ability to upload/attach the scanned signed approval letter to the work order.
For more information regarding the work control system, please visit the Work Control website. To access the Facilities Work Control page, click here .
