The OWL Card is a gateway to retail and services at Florida Atlantic University. All students are required to obtain one, as it serves as your official photo identification, debit card,  FAU Owl Card  card, library card, residence hall building key, meal card for those who have an  FAU Meal Plan, and your ticket to many FAU events, including sporting events. You will need to present your OWL card to receive the benefits of the many services offered at FAU. The OWL card is also recommended for FAU faculty and staff.

Owl Bucks

OWL Bucks is a convenient, prepaid declining balance account designed for students, faculty and staff which allows account holders to make purchases everywhere that OWL Bucks are accepted. Anyone with an OWL Card may open an OWL Bucks account. OWL Bucks is a spending option at participating campus locations, including all on-campus    dining locations,    convenient stores    and many    retail locations, including the    Bookstore.

OWL Bucks transactions are much faster than purchases made with cash, checks or credit cards. An OWL Bucks account also allows you to budget your dollars over the course of the semester. You can make deposits anytime, but you may choose to deposit weekly, monthly or on a semester basis to better allow you to budget your money. Parents – you have security in knowing that the dollars deposited into your student's OWL Bucks account are going towards those necessary campus purchases from food to books to medications. Students, parents, faculty and staff find OWL Bucks an easy and convenient way to conduct business on campus.

OWL Card Problems

Florida Atlantic University understands that from time to time issues may occur affecting your OWL Card. For that reason, there are a number of built in safeguards to assist you.

Lost your OWL Card?

Please notify the OWL Card center if you misplaced or lost your OWL card.

Visit the OWL Card Center for a replacement card. There is a $15 fee for each replacement OWL Card. This fee will be applied to your student account.

Your OWL Card has stopped working?

If your OWL card has stopped working in one of the following areas, please reach out to the respective contact listed below:

  • Meal Plan – Contact Office of Business Services at 561-297-2041 or  bizservices@fau.edu
  • Library Card – Contact the FAU Library Circulation Desk at 561-297-6911
  • Housing – Contact your  Building Administrator

Visit the  OWL Card Center  and talk with a member of our staff. Because OWL Cards serve many different types of functions, you will need to make sure they are aware of which specific function is not working properly. Office of Business Services staff will be happy to work with you regarding any problem that may arise.

OWL Card Request

All Florida Atlantic University students are required to obtain an OWL Card. It serves as your official photo identification, as well as your FAU debit card, library card, and ticket to certain university events. In addition, for those that choose, residence hall building key and meal plan card. The FAU OWL Card is also recommended for faculty and staff.

To obtain your OWL Card, visit the  OWL Card Center  on Florida Atlantic University's Boca Raton, Jupiter, or Davie campuses. Bring with you a photo ID, either your driver's license, military ID or passport. You must also be registered for classes within the current semester, have a current FAU employment contract, or LLS membership card.

Owl Cards will be ready to be picked up after one business day from submission at Boca Raton location. Processing times at the Jupiter and Davie locations may vary.
