In addition to managing  Wavelengths  , the Internet radio station of the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies, I teach courses in broadcast journalism, public affairs coverage, and media studies. My professional background includes twenty years of on-air and management experience in public radio and commercial radio, in addition to an internship at the BBC World Service in London. Since entering academia, I have taught high school students at the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, as well as, college students at Palm Beach State College, Indian River State College, Broward College, Nova Southeastern University, and Florida Atlantic University.

Creatively, my interests center on student and faculty collaborations in the production of radio news and documentaries. My broadcast journalism students and I produce  South Florida Journal, a weekly local radio news magazine modeled after public radio programs in this genre. Our show is accessible through iTunes U, as well as, through the FAU Multimedia Studies site. I also produce documentaries touching on a wide range of cultural, social, and political topics. This work includes  Encircling Skies: The FAU Residency of Libby Larsen  (2012),  Past Meets Present: The FAU Salango Field School  (2011), and  Driving Our Lives Away: South Florida’s Transportation Dilemma  (2007).
