Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Orin Kirshner teaches courses in United States Government and Public Policy. He received his PhD and MA degrees from the New School for Social Research in New York City, and his BA from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. An internationally recognized expert in the field of American trade politics and the politics of the World Trade Organization (WTO), he is the author of, American Trade Politics and the Triumph of Globalism (New York: Routledge, 2014); and editor of, The Bretton Woods-GATT System: Retrospect and Prospect after Fifty Years (New York: Routledge 1996). His articles on trade have appeared in Political Science Quarterly; Critical Review; Politics & Policy; SAGE Research Methods Cases; the Journal of International and Global Economic Studies; and the International Law Review of Wuhan University (PRC). He has been a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP); a Visiting Fellow at the Wuhan University WTO Studies School (PRC); and Executive Director of the Global Environment and Trade Study (GETS).
