Scolarships
Scholarships are exclusively offered for the Spring and Fall terms, are limited in availability, and awarded competitively. To qualify, applicants must first apply and be admitted as degree-seeking students. Additionally, students must have earned a high school diploma or equivalent by the first day of classes to meet the scholarship criteria. Florida Atlantic University offers a limited number of President’s Scholarships specifically for international students on F-1 or J-1 visas. To be considered for these international merit scholarships, students must submit a complete admissions application by these deadlines:
Fall: January 15 (priority); March 15 (regular)
Spring: August 15 (priority); October 15 (regular)
$6,000 awarded annually and renewable up to four years for qualified freshmen students on F-1 or J-1 visa. Eligibility requirements include: 3.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 U.S. grading scale, SAT, ACT or CLT scores, and proof of English proficiency.
Transfers
$6,000 awarded annually and renewable up to three years for qualified transfer students on F-1 or J-1 visa. Eligibility requirements include: 3.5 transfer GPA or higher, two years of university (up to 60 credits), or an AA degree, and proof of English proficiency.
• Attended a high school in the state of Florida for 3 consecutive years; and
• Graduated from a Florida high school immediately after those 3 years of consecutive attendance; and
• Applied for enrollment in a state university, Florida College System institution, or Florida career center or charter technical career center in Florida within 24 months after high school graduation.
The waiver is only available for up to 110% of the required credits hours of an undergraduate degree or certificate program for which the student is enrolled. This waiver cannot be applied to non-degree work or graduate degrees. The approval of this waiver does not grant eligibility for financial aid, scholarships or loans from the University, the state, or the federal government, as defined in the Florida Statutes.
